How do I deposit a check?

To deposit a check, please click “Deposit” in the account dashboard of the ING Mobile App and the follow the steps to take a picture of the check and key in details of the check. For more details, refer to the step-by-step guide at https://ing.com.ph/how-to/check-deposit.html.

My check deposit was rejected. Why?

Check deposit could fail for several reasons. The common reasons for rejection are:

  1. the check image, either the front or rear, or both, are not clear, e.g. image is blurry, is dark or has a shadow cast over the check;
  2. the details written or printed on the check is faint, not legible, has been altered;
  3. the check deposit details entered into the ING Mobile App is not consistent with what is printed on the check;
  4. the amount on the check is PHP 500,000 or more;
  5. the check is stale-dated, i.e. the date on the check should not be 180 days old or more;
  6. the check deposit has not been properly filled out, and elements such as the signature, date are missing and/or has been altered;
  7. the back of the check does not contain all the required endorsements which are: ING account number, your signature, date of deposit and the words "ING".

How long does it take to process the check?

Check deposit is available from 1:00 am to 3:30 pm on banking days. We have a daily cut off time of 3:30 pm and we follow the regular check clearing cycle. You can expect to have cleared funds in your account by 10:00 am the following business day.

What do I do with the check after it has cleared?

We suggest you keep the physical check for at least 180 days. As stated in our Terms & Conditions for account opening and processing mobile check deposits, you will be required to provide the original check in the event that ING or the drawee bank requests for it.

Can I deposit a foreign currency check?

We only accept checks issued by local banks and foreign bank branches in Philippine Peso.

What types of check are accepted?

We accept all locally-issued checks in the new/current check format that have been issued to your name. We accept personal checks, manager's checks, demand drafts, corporate checks.

Blank checks, checks issued "Payable to Bearer", "Cash", and/or "Pay To Cash" will not be accepted. FCYs (Foreign Currency Checks) are also not accepted. We will also not accept any check that has alterations, is stale-dated, in the old format, has faint and/or unclear markings and is dirty and/or physically damaged.
