What is the process to open the ING Savings Account?

Opening an account is instant and easy. You can open an account anytime, anywhere.

  1. You need a mobile phone with a camera. For the list of compatible devices, please refer to the list in the ING Mobile App.
  2. A stable data connection is required when opening the ING Savings Account.

  3. Have the following ready:
    • A government-issued ID (e.g. Driver’s License, Unified Multi-purpose Identity Card (UMID), Passport)
    • A proof of address which indicates your name and present address (e.g. utility bill)
    • Your signature on a piece of plain white paper
  4. Ensure that you have a valid Philippine or international mobile number, and a valid e-mail address
  5. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and download and install the ING Mobile App (“ING Bank PH”)
  6. Follow the steps in the ING Mobile App.

What are the requirements to open the ING Savings Account?

    You need to:
  • be at least 18 years old;
  • be a resident of the Philippines;
    • Resident refers to:
      • individual Filipino citizens residing in the Philippines;
      • Individuals who are not citizens but are a permanently residing in the Philippines who are owning an original ACR I-card identification document;
      • Individual Filipino citizens who are Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs);
      • Individuals who are Filipino national diplomats, peacekeeping and other military personnel and other civil servants employed abroad in government enclaves as well as members of their household.
  • have at least one valid Philippine government-issued ID (e.g. Driver’s license, Unified Multi- purpose Identity Card, Passport);
  • have a Philippine present and/or permanent address;
  • have a valid Philippine mobile number; and
  • have a valid e-mail address.

Is there is a minimum amount to maintain the ING Savings account?

There is no minimum amount required to maintain the ING Savings account.

Can I open multiple accounts?

I am U.S. tax resident. Can I open the ING Savings Account?

Yes, you can. You will be asked to identify yourself as one during the application/registration process so please have the documents ready. For more information, please read our terms and conditions found on our website and in the ING Mobile App.

My account opening was unsuccessful due to wrong address but I entered in the correct address. What went wrong?

Please log-in to your account, verify if the address you have entered is exactly the same as the address in your proof of the address document (e.g. utility bill) and update as necessary. If the problem persists, please contact our customer care team via the pre-login chat or in-app chat function.

I had difficulties uploading the image of my government ID even after several tries. What may have gone wrong?

The image may have been affected by the reflective lighting from the surroundings. Please try again and ensure that the image of your ID is clear and complete. If you still encounter problems, please contact our customer care team via the in-app chat function.

How do I submit additional documents?

Please go to "My Profile" page where you will find the "Personal Document Upload" button to submit the required additional documents.

How long is the post verification process?

The actual duration varies but it could take 5 to 7 business days for us to review your documents. During this time, we may need additional documents from you. We will prompt you with notifications and instructions when you log in to your account.

I forgot my passcode and my account has been locked. How do I recover my account?

Account recovery follows a process similar to that of account opening which you have gone through. First, click on “I already have an account” / "Recover my account”. Then, you will be asked to verify your personal details (name and date of birth) and follow the steps in the “liveness” detection. After that you will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) to your registered mobile number. Once you enter the OTP in the app, you will be asked to set a new 5-digit passcode.

How can I close my account?

Please send a message to our customer care team via the in-app chat function in the ING Mobile App. They will help you with closing the account.

Can I request for a bank certification for visa purposes?

You can send a request to the customer care agent via the in-app chat function in the ING Mobile App. We will advise you on the ways to collect the bank certificate.
