How do I deposit a check?

Is there any fee for money transfers?

We do not charge any fee for money transfer from ING to other accounts. However, some banks may charge you fees for transferring money from the bank to ING.

Where can I find my current balance?

You can find your current balance located in the transaction history in the ING Mobile App and not on the dashboard. To see your current balance please swipe down halfway through the screen.

What are the requirements to open the ING Savings Account?

    You need to:
  • be at least 18 years old;
  • be a resident of the Philippines;
    • Resident refers to:
      • individual Filipino citizens residing in the Philippines;
      • Individuals who are not citizens but are a permanently residing in the Philippines who are owning an original ACR I-card identification document;
      • Individual Filipino citizens who are Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs);
      • Individuals who are Filipino national diplomats, peacekeeping and other military personnel and other civil servants employed abroad in government enclaves as well as members of their household.
  • have at least one valid Philippine government-issued ID (e.g. Driver’s license, Unified Multi- purpose Identity Card, Passport);
  • have a Philippine present and/or permanent address;
  • have a valid Philippine mobile number; and
  • have a valid e-mail address.


What is the process to open the ING Savings Account?

Opening an account is instant and easy. You can open an account anytime, anywhere.

  1. You need a mobile phone with a camera. For the list of compatible devices, please refer to the list in the ING Mobile App.
  2. A stable data connection is required when opening the ING Savings Account.

  3. Have the following ready:
    • A government-issued ID (e.g. Driver’s License, Unified Multi-purpose Identity Card (UMID), Passport)
    • A proof of address which indicates your name and present address (e.g. utility bill)
    • Your signature on a piece of plain white paper
  4. Ensure that you have a valid Philippine or international mobile number, and a valid e-mail address
  5. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and download and install the ING Mobile App (“ING Bank PH”)
  6. Follow the steps in the ING Mobile App.

Is there a minimum amount to earn interest?

There is no minimum amount required to maintain the ING Savings account.


How is the interest rate calculated?

Interest is calculated daily based on the available daily balance of your ING Savings Account using the formula:

(Available end of day balance x interest rate) x (1 day / 365 days*)

*366 days for leap year

How do I deposit a check?

To deposit a check, please click “Deposit” in the account dashboard of the ING Mobile App and the follow the steps to take a picture of the check and key in details of the check. For more details, refer to the step-by-step guide at https://ing.com.ph/how-to/check-deposit.html.


My check deposit was rejected. Why?

Check deposit could fail for several reasons. The common reasons for rejection are:

  1. the check image, either the front or rear, or both, are not clear, e.g. image is blurry, is dark or has a shadow cast over the check;
  2. the details written or printed on the check is faint, not legible, has been altered;
  3. the check deposit details entered into the mobile app is not consistent with what is printed on the check;
  4. the amount on the check is PHP 500,000 or more;
  5. the check is stale-dated, i.e. the date on the check should not be 180 days old or more;
  6. the check deposit has not been properly filled out, and elements such as the signature, date are missing and/or has been altered;
  7. the back of the check does not contain all the required endorsements which are: ING account number, your signature, date of deposit and the words ”ING”.


How long does it take to process the check?

Check deposit is available from 1:00 am to 3:30 pm on banking days. We have a daily cut off time of 3:30 pm and we follow the regular check clearing cycle. You can expect to have cleared funds in your account by 10:00 am the following business day.


Is there a daily limit for transferring money?

The table below gives an overview of the different limits depending on transaction type. You can also see the daily limits under account information.

Daily limits for internal and external fund transfers are applicable for each single transaction or total aggregate transactions per calendar day.

Can I change my daily transactions limit?

This feature is not yet available at this point. This feature will be available soon.


Is there any fee for money transfers?

We do not charge any fee for money transfer from ING to other accounts. However, some banks may charge you fees for transferring money from the bank to ING.


What is my account number?

Your account number is a 12-digit number which you can find in the ING Mobile App home- screen/dashboard or in the account information page.


What is the difference between current and available balance?

Available balance is the amount that you can withdraw, while current balance includes deposits currently in process.


Can I pay bills through the ING Savings Account?

We will launch another product that will have the bills payment feature.


Is my money safe?

Yes, your money is safe. We are a universal bank supervised by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

We are also a member of Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC). The Maximum Deposit Insurance for each depositor is PHP 500,000. If you have any question, please contact our 24/7 customer care agent via the in-app chat function.


How do I report a suspicious email or verify if it was sent by ING?

Please forward the suspicious email to us (as an attachment where possible) at askus@asia.ing.com. If you are unsure about an email you have received, you may also contact our 24/7 customer care team via the in-app chat function.


How is ING using my data?

We only use your personal data for legitimate business reasons. We are only allowed to keep your personal data for as long as it is still necessary for the purpose we initially required it. After this we look for feasible solutions, like archiving it.
